Does anyone know where I can locate a doctor who will remove keloid scars surgically?

I am tired of being prescribed all sorts of creams and ointments and patches for these things. All of the itching and scratching and burning is driving me utterly insane. I want these things gone and I want them gone NOW as in ASAP!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Thanks.|||keloids should not be operated upon as they have a tendency to come back in a bigger size ,|||Many doctors are reluctant to surgically remove keloids as you are obviously prone to getting them and surgery could just result in larger keloids. I opted for steroid injections as treatment for mine. Within a couple of days after the first treatment all the itching and burning completely disappeared. Within a month most of them had completely flattened and with one more treatment all of them are gone. I will say, though, that this treatment is extremely painful and may not be as successful for you as it was for me. Also, it is still very noticeable where they were as the pigmentation is much darker in those areas, but definitely seems to be fading with time (I%26#039;ve had about 30% lightening of the scarred areas in 6 months). Of course talk it over with your doctor or plastic surgeon, though, but I%26#039;m guessing they will want to try other methods before attempting surgical removal. For a reference point, I did also have one keloid surgically removed years ago by an idiot doctor who thought it was a large mole, and with the scarring from the stitches it looks worse than the keloids treated with the injections - especially if those continue to lighten.

I know this doesn%26#039;t exactly answer your question, but I hope it helps somewhat.
